Evelyne, a regular visitor at Montligeon, comes from the Paris area of Essonne to pray for some deceased members of her family. This time she was also coming for a journey of forgiveness. We met her during a pilgrimage in November in Montligeon and she explained how forgiving a deceased person could make you free.
Remembering our deceased loved-ones
I have registered my deceased loved-ones with the Montligeon Fraternity. In this way, they benefit from perpetual Mass and have a mass every day. I think this will enable them to reach the house of the Father more quickly.
This shrine allows us to recharge our batteries as well as remembering our deceased, and treasure all the nice memories from them.
Why should we forgive deceased persons?
If we failed to forgive them when they were alive, we are still able to do it now they are no more, by coming to Montligeon for that purpose. Then they are much lighter to ascend to Heaven.
Forgiving a deceased person is something that takes place between God and you. It is a very lengthy, laborious process. However, if you pray insistently and offer your suffering, you will be able to forgive those souls. This proceeding allows them to be liberated.
Forgiving a deceased person makes me freer
I feel more peaceful because I think that each time I forgive someone, it opens a door for me too. It is a path to paradise.
I expect those souls in purgatory to welcome us very warmly.
